National College of Informatics "Matei Basarab" was established in September 1914 as there are a large number of children in villages in the area that could not be properly educated. At first it was school teaching in 2007 and became officially National College of Informatics "Matei Basarab" Ramnicu Valcea, but keeping and pedagogical profile. It is located in a neighborhood that is of particular interest among those who wish to establish residence in this. National College of Computer Profile is addressed to students who intend to continue their studies in higher education, providing the basis for a wide range of accredited . Our school levels: primary, secondary and higher, with the following specializations:REAL-mathematics-computer science,
-REAL-natural sciences,
-uman-philology bilingual human-social sciences, vocational training courses.
Our school has about 2000 students between 6 and 18, and about 120 teachers, three directors and a consultant for educational work.
The material base represents the standards of training standards.

National College of Informatics "Matei Basarab" Ramnicu Valcea has a system of quality education tailored to the needs of all education at all levels and forms of education. It aims to improve the level of key competences and skills, especially with regard to their relevance on the labor market, contributing to a cohesive society by increasing mobility opportunities for educational purposes through cooperation between education and the world training in the workplace.
Our school aims to improve placement quality, innovation and internationalization in the educational institutions and training through enhanced transnational cooperation between education and training providers and other stakeholders.
Our school teachers know how to capitalize experience organizing conferences and participation in national and international competitions and Olympiads school with pupils they lead to cultural activities, sports trips and visits thematic partnerships with educational institutions in the city and in other places, the actions to help people with financial difficulties, institutionalized children, old people are in homes.
Our school has a lot of school and extracurricular sport activities, the results being adequate. Basketball characterizes the sporting activity of the college's tradition, gaining this status through the multitude of awards won at school sports competitions.
Participation and integration of our college in all these activities and projects, increased mobility in Europe, promoting the European dimension in training, establishing connections between Romanian and European practice education, providing a real exchange of value, means of information, ideas and experiences in partner countries. By engaging in these projects, participants had the opportunity to come into contact with cultures, ethnicities and religions from other countries and this led them to accept and understand other points of view and respect the similarities and differences between themselves and others.
In November 2014 we opened a Community Initiative for Youth Club IMPACT our school, coordinated by New Horizons in partnership with Pro Vobis -by project "IMPACT model of education for active citizenship and community involvement among children and youth" 2009-2014 grants financed by the EEA in the Fund in Romania..
We use non-formal education in the IMPACT club. Projects and regular meetings IMPACT youth in developing their knowledge, skills and attitudes (values) that complements the skills acquired in school or family. Combining community service, learning and entertainment, young people become active citizens IMPACT Movement leaders and social entrepreneurs, responsible and self-confident, ready to improve both themselves and society.
ECDL 3D Printing works with Fused Deposition Modeling (FDM) printers and the participants will be able to print their own objects created after designing, designing, and 3D printing.
Running the HUB 3DUTECH project - "The future craftsmanship of the 3D printer" has helped to consolidate concepts promoted at European level on understanding and accepting diversity, to know basic concepts related to the risks associated with 3D printing, ethics and intellectual property, to carry out maintenance physics and solve eventual mechanical problems with FDM (Fused Deposition Modeling)
The knowledge, skills and abilities gained through the project development generate benefits in the medium term, in the perspective of building a career, starting from self-knowledge and valorisation of some personal qualities of students.
3D printing has opened the way for a new industrial revolution that will change the world we know today. At the same time, 3D printing gives birth to new jobs that require a certain set of knowledge.
The College is in the top 31 at the level of Romania according to the average admission for the last 3 years and the results at Bacalaureat, it is an evaluation center for obtaining the European Computer Driving License ECDL 2009, the CISCO Center in 2010 and has 3 D printing in the year school 2017-2018.
From 2018 I am the "European School", from 2020 the "e-Twinning School", and this year Erasmus is won and accredited for the field of school education.
